Gospel Plus

March 24, 2017 – Gospel Plus Square Dance, Hopkins, Caller Tom Allen, Cuer Ray Belanger, Guest Cuer Ken LaBau.  Six squares with dancers from Ar-Dale Dancers, Bloomington Swirlers, County Line Squares, Country Twirlers, Crystal Cross Trailers, Dakota Grand Squares, Hot Foot Stompers, Single Circles, South Metro Stars, Spares & Pairs, and Westonka Whirlers (see photo above) were present.  Also present were Ar-Dale Dancers Queen Beth and King Andy, SDM Chair LeRoy Elfmann, SDM Secretary Mary Kay Amberg, and SDM Historian Al Martin.

Wadena Whirlaways

March 23, 2017 – Wadena Whirlaways “Think Spring … Wear Green” Square Dance, Wadena, Caller Abe Maier.  Three squares from County Line Squares, Country Twirlers, Friendly Squares, Rays Promenaders, and Wadena Whirlaways were present (see photo above).

Luana received a SDM Live Lively award.

Spares & Pairs

March 15, 2017 – Spares & Pairs “Wearin’ of the Green” Square Dance, Bloomington, Caller Larry Fruetel, CuerBelanger.  Seven and one-half squares from five organizations were present.

Triple T retrieved their banner.

F-M Square Dancers Association

March 18, 2017 – F-M Square Dancers Association hosted a “Donut Dance” so Linda and Dave Isom (center of photo above) could dance in North Dakota for their USDA “second-time around” dancing in all 50 states.  The Isom’s danced with Country Twirlers in Detroit Lakes on Friday, March 17, and Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on Saturday evening.  Sunday afternoon, March 19,  they danced with Harold Squares in Columbus, Nebraska.

March 19, 2017 – Harbor Squares Square Dance, Cloquet, Caller Abe Maier.  Three squares with dancers from County Line Squares and Harbor Squares were present (photo above).  County Line Squares claimed a banner.

Westonka Whirlers

March 18, 2017 – Westonka Whirlers “A Royal Affair” Square Dance, Mound, Callers Doug and Don Sprosty, Cuer Ray Belanger, Guest Cuer Ken LaBau.  Thirteen squares with dancers from Ar-Dale Dancers, County Line Squares, Crystal Cross Trailers, Dakota Grand Squares, Hot Foot Stompers, Riverbend Promenaders, Single Circles, Spares & Pairs, Square & Twirl, Wandering Wheels, and Westonka Whirlers were present.  Also present Ar-Dale Dancers Queen Beth and King Andy, County Line Squares Queen Helen and King Steve, Dakota Grand Squares Queen Becky, Spares & Pairs Queen Evonne and King Clem, Square & Twirl Queen Patti, Westonka Whirlers Queen Katy and King Mark; CSD Chair Vince Dahlheimer, CSD Secretary Ken Scott, SDM Chair LeRoy Elfmann, SDM Treasurer Deb Hollimon, SDM Historian Al Martin, SDM Marketing Director Dee Scott, and Federation At Large Patti and Jerry Ellingson.  See photo above for royalty at the dance.  Ar-Dale Dancers retrieved their banner, County Line Squares and Spares & Pairs claimed Westonka Whirlers banners.

Single Circles

March 17, 2017 – Single Circles “St Patrick’s Day” Square Dance, Maple Grove, Caller Bryan Bush, Cuer Sarah Klaphake.  Eight squares with dancers from Cambridge Corners, County Line Squares, Crystal Cross Trailers, Hot Foot Stompers, Single Circles, Spares & Pairs, and Westonka Whirlers were present.  Also present were County Line Squares Queen Helen and King Steve, Single Circles Queen Carla, CSD Chair Vince Dahlheimer, CSD Secretary Ken Scott, SDM Chair LeRoy Elfmann, SDM Treasurer Deb Hollimon, SDM Historian Al Martin, SDM Marketing Director Dee Scott, and The RoundUp Advertising Managers Judy and Len Willenbring.  Westonka Whirlers (photo above) and Hot Foot Stompers claimed Single Circles banners, County Line Squares retrieved their banner.

March 15, 2017 – Beaux & Belles “St Patrick’s” Square Dance, St Cloud, Caller Tom Allen.  Four squares with dancers from County Line Squares and Beaux & Belles were present (those wearing green in photo above).

Ar-Dale Dancers

March 12, 2017 – Ar-Dale Dancers “Stand Up with the Taller Caller” Square Dance, White Bear Lake, Caller Dean Dederman, Cuer Ken LaBau.  There were 9 5/8 squares from 15 organizations in attendance.  Special guests and royalty included Federation President Janet Sahlstrom, SDM Treasurer Deb Hollimon; Queens and Kings present were Beth Boatz, Andy Hybben, Kevin Grygelko, janet Sahlstrom, Lisa Caspasen, Evonne and Clem Herman.  Organizations stealing Ar-Dale Dancers banners were Spares & Pairs (photo above), Dan’se P.A.C., and Hot Foot Stompers.  Our lunch table was adorned with lots and lots of green treats and other goodies.  On April 9th we will be crowning our new royalty and Dan Sahlstrom will be calling.  Come join us for a fun Sunday afternoon.

March 11, 2017 – Koronis Nite Owls “Food Shelf” Square Dance, Paynesville, Caller Dean Dederman.  Eight squares with dancers from Beaux & Belles, County Line Squares, Jolly Twirlers, Koronis Nite Owls, Riverbend Promenaders, Rockin’ Country Dancers, Single Circles, and Wadena Whirlaways were present.  Also present were County Line Squares Queen Helen and King Steve, CSD Chair Vince Dahlheimer, and SDM Chair LeRoy Elfmann.  Beaux & Belles (photo above), County Line Squares, and Rockin’ Country Dancers claimed Koronis Nite Owls banners.
