South Metro Stars

May 21, 2019 – South Metro Stars ABC Square Dance, Burnsville, Caller Monte Guenzler. South Metro Stars and angels danced with a square of new dancers (see photo above).

St Peter Squares

May 17, 2019 – St Peter Squares Square Dance, St Peter, Caller Larry Fruetel.  St Peter Squares held its last dance before closing (see photo above).

Okoboji Spring Fling

May 17-19, 2019 – Okoboji Spring Fling, Okoboji, Callers Jerry Junck and Mike Hogan, Cuers Dan and Allison Drumheller.  Dancers from California, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, Ontario, South Dakota, and Wisconsin were present.  Dancers from Amethyst Squares (Thunder Bay, Ontario) and ETTA Square & Rounds appear in the photo above.

Westonka Whirlers

May 18, 2019 – Westonka Whirlers “Salute to Our Veterans” Square Dance, Mound, Caller Abe Maier, Cuer Ken LaBau.  County Line Squares dancers are in the photo above.

St Michael Open Streets

May 18, 2019 – Open Streets Beginner Square Dance Demo, St Michael, Caller Larry Fruetel. Because of the rain Saturday, St. Michael Open Streets moved into the library to celebrate (see photo above).

St. Michael Open Streets had lots of dancers give square dancing a try.

Some of the royalty tried square dancing at the St. Michael Open Streets celebration.

More royalty came to try square dancing.

 

Single Circles

May 17, 2019 – Single Circles “Press Release” Square Dance, Maple Grove, Caller Dean Dederman, Cuer Jane Simpson.  The floor was filled with over ten squares.

Dean Dederman called with Robert on guitar. Great entertainment!

Hot Foot Stompers earned a super banner except it is “return the banners month.”

Beaux & Belles

May 15, 2019 – Beaux & Belles Square Dance, St Cloud, Caller Tom Allen.  County Line Squares, Koronis Nite Owls, and Rockin’ Country Dancers danced with Beaux & Belles.

Amour Rounds

May 14, 2019 – Amour Rounds, Hopkins, Cuer Ken LaBau.  Round dance with Alma and Elmer Koehler returning after falls, hospitalization, and moving to assisted living.

County Line Squares

May 10, 2019 – County Line Squares “Sports Night/King’s Club Recognition” Square Dance, Monticello, Caller Abe Maier, Cuer Sarah Klaphake, Guest Caller Tom Allen.  Dancers from Ar-Dale Dancers, Beaux & Belles, County Line Squares, Dakota Grand Squares, Hot Foot Stompers, Jolly Twirlers, Koronis Nite Owls, Spares & Pairs, and Westonka Whirlers were present.  Also present were Ar-Dale Dancers Queen Kathleen, County Line Squares Queen Carmen and King David, Spares & Pairs Queen Evonne and King Mel, SDM Vice Chair Barry Downs, SDM Treasurer Gael Zachman, SDM Executive Director LeRoy Elfmann, SDM Historian Al Martin, and SDM Marketing Director Dee Scott.  Ar-Dale Dancers, Beaux & Belles, and Dakota Grand Squares retrieved their banners.

A check for $2,060 (from the March fund-raiser) was presented to the Alzheimer’s Association Minnesota-North Dakota.

County Line Squares new Queen Carmen and King David were introduced the outgoing Queen Gael and King Doug. Gael and Doug received the Edythe Beard Travelling Banner for their efforts during their tenure.

King’s Club members present were awarded certificates by Al Martin.

All past and current kings and queens at the dance.

Barry Downs (most active – center), Doug Zachman (second most active), and Jim Egerman (third most active) kings.

Sally and Tom retrieved the Beaux & Belles banner.

Kathleen, Carol, and Louie retrieved the   Ar-Dale Dancers banner.

Becky and Jeff retrieved the Dakota Grand Squares banner.

 

Spares & Pairs

May 8, 2019 – Spares & Pairs “Celebrate Spring” Square Dance, Bloomington, Caller Larry Fruetel, Cuer Sarah Klaphake, Guest Caller Tom Allen.  Dancers from Ar-Dale Dancers, Beaux & Belles, County Line Squares, Single Circles, and Spares & Pairs were present.  Also present were Ar-Dale Dancers Queen Kathleen, County Line Squares Queen Carmen and King David, Spares & Pairs Queen Evonne and King Mel, SDM Treasurer Gael Zachman, SDM Executive Director LeRoy Elfmann, and SDM Historian Al Martin.  County Line Squares (see photo above) retrieved their banner.
