South Metro Stars

January 8, 2019 – South Metro Stars “Intro to Square Dance,” Burnsville, Caller Monte Guenzler.  Twenty-nine new dancers (see photo above) joined South Metro Stars to give square dancing a try.  Six squares danced all evening.  The next dance for beginners will be Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at 7 p.m. at the Good Shepherd Church gym.

L & M Squares

January 8, 2019 – L & M Squares “10th Anniversary” Square Dance, Fargo, Caller Roger McNeil, Cuer Bernadette McNeil.  Dancers from Valley Stars and County Line Squares helped L & M Squares celebrate their anniversary (see photo above).

L & M President Donna Alby received a congratulatory certificate from SDM.

Rockin’ Country Dancers

January 6, 2019 – Rockin’ Country Dancers Square Dance, West Union, Caller Larry Johansen.  Wadena Whirlaways, Spares & Pairs, Koronis Nite Owls, and County Line Squares danced with Rockin’ Country Dancers (see photo above).  Also present were Federation Secretary Myron Hollatz and SDM Executive Director LeRoy Elfmann.

Dakota Grand Squares

January 5, 2019 – Dakota Grand Squares “Ho-Ho-Hope It Snows” Square Dance, Inver Grove Heights, Caller Larry Fruetel, Cuer Ken LaBau. Spares & Pairs (see photo above) claimed a Dakota Grand Squares banner. Triple T (see photo below) retrieved their banner.

Cambridge Corners

January 4, 2019 – Cambridge Corners “Back to the 50’s” Square Dance, Isanti, Caller Dan Sahlstrom.  Hot Foot Stompers (see photo above) claimed a large banner from Cambridge Corners.

County Line Squares

January 4, 2019 – County Line Squares “Denim” Square Dance, Monticello, Caller Bob Maiden, Cuer Sarah Klaphake.  Dancers from Ar-Dale Dancers, Beaux & Belles, Hot Foot Stompers, Jolly Promenaders, Koronis Nite Owls, Single Circles, Spares & Pairs, Triple T, and Westonka Whirlers danced with County Line Squares.

January 2, 2019 – Beaux & Belles Square Dance, St Cloud, Caller Tom Allen.  County Line Squares danced with Beaux and Belles (see photo above) and claimed a banner.

County Line Squares

December 31, 2018 – January 1, 2019 – County Line Squares “New Year’s Eve – Holiday Glitter” Square Dance, Monticello, Caller Abe Maier, Guest Caller Tom Allen, Cuer Jane Simpson.  Dancers from Ar-Dale Dancers, Beaux & Belles, Cambridge Corners, Dakota Grand Squares, ETTA Square & Rounds, Hot Foot Stompers, Single Circles, Spares & Pairs, Triple T, and Westonka Whirlers joined County Line Squares.  Many “new dancers” were present, as were Ar-Dale Dancers Queen Tami and King Rick, County Line Squares Queen Gael and King Doug, Hot Foot Stompers Queen Coni, Spares & Pairs Queen Jennifer and King Barry, Westonka Whirlers Queen Anita and King Bill, SDM Vice Chair Barry Downs, SDM Treasurer Gael Zachman, SDM Executive Director LeRoy Elfmann, SDM Historian Al Martin, RoundUp Assistant Editor Steve Huntsman, RoundUp Advertising Manager Connie Walker-Pearson, and RoundUp Subscription Manager and Enhancin’ Dancin’ Editor Paul Pearson.  Beaux & Belles (see photo above) and Single Circles retrieved their banners; Hot Foot Stompers already had a County Line Squares banner.

SDM Plus Blast

December 29, 2018 – SDM Plus Blast Square Dance, Mound, Caller Dick Rueter.  Dancers from Ar-Dale Dancers, Cambridge Corners, County Line Squares, Crystal Cross Trailers, Dakota Grand Squares, Hot Foot Stompers, Jolly Promenaders, Kato Plus, MAGIC, Single Circles, South Metro Stars, Spares & Pairs, St Peter Squares, Triple T, and Westonka Whirlers included 28 “new-to-plus” dancers and 59 angels (see photo above).

Dick Rueter’s brief return from Arizona made possible a timely, plus BLAST.

Eight, “seasoned-plus” dancers helped Dick by demonstrating the calls that he was about teach.

Dancers from 15 clubs participated in the BLAST!

Twenty-eight, “new-to-plus” dancers enjoyed being introduced to the 30 plus calls.

Throughout the day, a total of 59 seasoned dancers helped the “new-to-plus” dancers.

Smiles, laugher, energy, fellowship, fun and lots and lots of superb food dominated the day!
