May 4, 2018 – County Line Squares “Let’s Go Fishing” Square Dance, Monticello, Caller Abe Maier, Cuer Sarah Klaphake.  Eight squares with dancers from Ar-Dale Dancers, County Line Squares, ETTA Square & Rounds, Hot Foot Stompers, Koronis Nite Owls, Single Circles, Spares & Pairs, and Westonka Whirlers were in attendance (some are included in the photo above).  Present were Spares & Pairs Queen Jennifer and King Barry, County Line Squares Queen Gael and King Doug, SDM Chair LeRoy Elfmann, SDM Secretary Gael Zachman, SDM Education Director Barry Downs, and SDM Marketing Dee Scott.  Banners retrieved by Beaux & Belles, Single Circles, Spares & Pairs, and Westonka Whirlers.  Koronis Nite Owls could have claimed a banner but they already have County Line Squares.

May 2, 2018 – Spares & Pairs “Celebration” Square Dance, Bloomington, Caller Larry Fruetel, Cuer Ray Belanger.  Over nine square celebrated with Larry Fruetel (on the right in the photo above) as he celebrated 32 years of calling and his upcoming birthday. Westonka Whirlers and Dakota Grand qualified for banners. Spares and Pairs hosted the celebration.

May 2, 2018 – Beaux & Belles “Cinco de Mayo” Square Dance, St Cloud, Caller Abe Maier, Cuer Sarah Klaphake.  Three squares with dancers from Beaux & Belles and County Line Squares were present (see photo above).

2018-05-02 – Senior Spring Forum Square Dance Demo, Crystal, Caller Tom Allen.   Dancers from County Line Squares, Hot Foot Stompers, Single Circles, South Metro Stars, Spares & Pairs, and Westonka Whirlers (see photo above) entertained the Forum visitors.

April 29, 2018 – SDM Spring Festival Square Dance, St Cloud, Callers Tom Allen, Andy Flint, Abe Maier, and Dick Severson, Cuers Sarah Klaphake, Ken LaBau, and Donna Stone (see photo above).  Six squares with dancers from Ar-Dale Dancers, Beaux & Belles, Cambridge Corners, County Line Squares, ETTA Square & Rounds, Friendly Squares, Hot Foot Stompers, Kato Plus, Koronis Nite Owls, Rays Promenaders, Rockin’ Country Dancers, Single Circles, Spares & Pairs, St Peter Squares, Wadena Whirlaways, and Westonka Whirlers attended the dance.  SDM Board meeting was held prior to the meeting with 26 members attending.  Awards were presented during the dance – Willard Leinonen received the 6th Most-Active Dancer Award and Susie Oachs received the 4th Most-Active Dancer Award for the period July 1 through December 31, 2017, Susie Oachs received her 3rd and 4th Traveler Awards, Lorraine Wilson received her 3rd Traveler Award, Gael and Doug Zachman received their 4th Traveler Awards, and Mavis Johnson, Don Lundell, and Mary and LeRoy Elfmann received their 7th Traveler Awards.

April 28, 2018 – 37th Annual Royalty Luncheon hosted by Dakota Grand Squares, Inver Grove Heights.  Royalty from the Minnesota square dance organizations that participate held a luncheon where the Edythe Beard Travelling Royalty Banner (see photo above) was presented to the past year royalty that earned the most points.  This year’s recipient was County Line Squares Queen Susie Oachs (see photo above).
