Single Circles

February 16, 2018 – Single Circles “Happy Valentines Day” Square Dance, Maple Grove, Caller Monte Guenzler, Cuer Jane Simpson.  Seven squares (see photo above) with dancers from County Line Squares, Crystal Cross Trailers, Friendly Twirlers, Hot Foot Stompers, Kaleidoscope Squares, Single Circles, South Metro Stars, Spares & Pairs, and Westonka Whirlers were present.  Also present were Hot Foot Stompers Queen Rose, Single Circles King Mel, CSD Chair Vince Dahlheimer, SDM Chair LeRoy Elfmann, SDM Secretary Gael Zachman, SDM Historian Al Martin, SDM Marketing Director Dee Scott, and SDM Membership Director Mary Kay Amberg.

Home School Demo

February 16, 2018 – Home School Children Demo, Brooklyn Park, Caller Abe Maier.  Nine squares participated, including dancers from County Line Squares (see photo above).

Saturday Fun Nite

February 10, 2018 – Saturday Fun Nite Square Dance, Fargo, Caller Larry Johansen.  L & M Squares (see photo above) and Valley Stars (see photo below) danced with Saturday Fun Nite.

Crystal Cross Trailers

February 9, 2018 – Crystal Cross Trailers “Red and White Night” Square Dance, Plymouth, Caller Tom Allen, Cuer Doug Brodeen.  Single Circles with King Mel (see photo above) and Hot Foot Stompers with Queen Rose (see photo below) were present.

Ar-Dale Dancers

February 11, 2018 – Ar-Dale Dancers “Sweetheart Serenade” Square Dance, White Bear Lake, Caller Mike Hogan, Cuer Ken LaBau.  Fifteen plus squares (see photo above) with dancers from Westonka Whirlers, TMF Squares, Square & Twirl, Spares & Pairs, Single Circles, Jolly Promenaders, Hot Foot Stompers, Friendly Twirlers, Dakota Grand Squares, Dan’se P.A.C., Crystal Cross Trailers, County Line Squares, Country Twirlers, Cambridge Corners, and Ar-Dale Dancers were present.  Also present were CSD Chair Vince Dahlheimer, SDM Chair LeRoy Elfmann, SDM Education Director Barry Downs, SDM Historian Al Martin, SDM Membership Director Mary Kay Amberg, SDM Marketing Director Dee Scott, Federation Education Linda Biederman-Hink, Westonka Whirlers Queen Katy and King Mark, Single Circles King Mel, Spares & Pairs Queen Cathy and King Brad, Friendly Twirlers Queen Lisa, Cambridge Corners Queen Kim and King Bob, and Ar-Dale Dancers Queen Marleen and King Roger.  Spares & Pairs retrieved their banner in addition to the organizations members pictured below.

February 10, 2018 – Hot Foot Stompers “Mardi Gras” Square Dance, Coon Rapids, Caller Abe Maier, Cuer Ken LaBau.  Dancers from Cambridge Corners, County Line Squares, Dakota Grand Squares, Dan’se P.A.C., Hot Foot Stompers, Jolly Promenaders, Square & Twirl, and Westonka Whirlers were present.  Also present were Cambridge Corners Queen Kim and King Bob, County Line Squares Queen Susie and King Jim, Hot Foot Stompers Queen Rose, Federation President Michelle Jensen, SDM Chair LeRoy Elfmann, RoundUp Advertising Manager Connie Walker-Pearson, RoundUp Subscription Manager and Enhancin’ Dancin’ Editor Paul Pearson.

Beaux & Belles

February 7, 2018 – Beaux & Belles “Valentine” Square Dance, St. Cloud, Caller Larry Fruetel, Cuer Sarah Klaphake. Two squares with dancers from County Line Squares and Beaux & Belles were present (see photo above).

Kaleidoscope Squares

February 4, 2018 – Kaleidoscope Squares “Graduation” Square Dance, Rochester, Caller Monte Guenzler.  More than three squares were present to welcome the new dancers (see photo above).

SDM Winter Festival

February 3, 2018 – SDM Winter Festival “Board Meeting, Dance, and Awards Presentation” Square Dance, St. Cloud, Callers Tom Allen, Andy Flint, Tom Jacobs, Roger McNeil, Cuers Sarah Klaphake, Ken LaBau, Bernadette McNeil.  Forty-six dancers were present from Beaux & Belles, Cambridge Corners, County Line Squares, ETTA Square & Rounds, F-M Square Dancers Association, Jolly Twirlers, Koronis Nite Owls, L & M Squares, Rockin’ Country Dancers, Saturday Fun Nite, Single Circles, South Metro Stars, Spares & Pairs, Wadena Whirlaways, and Westonka Whirlers.  Mavis Johnson received the Most-Active Dancer award (see photo above) having participated in 139 dance events during the period July 1 through December 31, 2017.

Don Lundell received the second Most-Active Dancer award with 138 events.

Barry Downs was the third Most-Active Dancer with 128 events.

Jim Egerman was the fifth Most-Active Dancer with 68 events.

Mavis Johnson and Don Lundell received their sixth Traveler award.

Dave Flint received a Septuagenarian Live Lively award.

Jennifer Downs received a Septuagenarian Live Lively award.
