Quilts of Valor
November 5, 2015 – The city of Hopkins surprised 54 veterans Thursday at its Salute to Vets luncheon with quilts handmade by volunteers from Quilts of Valor. The group’s mission is “to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor.” Minnesota’s Quilts of Valor volunteers last year bestowed more than 1,000 quilts on veterans–the most of
any state.

October 22, 2015 – Wadena Whirlaways “Monster Mash-Costumes” Square Dance, Wadena, Caller Jim Lizakowski, Cuer Rita Lizakowski.
Costumed dancers enlivened the dance floor while “finger food” and a skull cheese ball graced the refreshments table.
County Line Squares
October 30, 2015 – County Line Squares “Hillbilly Night” Square Dance, Monticello, Caller Abe Maier, Guest Caller Mike Driscoll, Cuer Jane Simpson. Twelve squares with dancers from Beaux & Belles, Bloomington Swirlers, County Line Squares, Crystal Cross Trailers, Hotfoot Stompers, Single Circles, Spares & Pairs, and Westonka Whirlers. Beaux & Belles, Single Circles, and Spares & Pairs retrieved their banners. Bloomington Swirlers and Westonka Whirlers claimed County Line Squares banners.
