Ar-Dale Dancers

April 26, 2015 – Ar-Dales sponsored a wonderful afternoon for new Mainstream dancers.  With Larry Fruetel on the microphone,  the dancers got to workshop and dance through many calls.  More than 40 dancers enjoyed the afternoon.  The success of the dance and the enthusiasm of the dancers led the Ar-Dales president to announce there will be a second Mainstream workshop in June.

Koronis Nite Owls

April 25, 2015 – Koronis Nite Owls “Hawaiian Night and Graduation” Square Dance, Paynesville, Caller Larry Johansen.  Six squares with dancers from Jolly Twirlers, Koronis Nite Owls, County Line Squares, and Beaux & Belles attended the dance.  Three “graduates” were greeted with enthusiasm by the audience, diplomas presented by Callers Andy Flint and Larry Johansen.  Arlene received a “Live Lively Octogenarian” award from SDM Chair LeRoy.

Gospel Plus

April 24, 2015 – Gospel Plus Square Dance, Hopkins, Callers Tom Allen and Dick Rueter, Cuer Ken LaBau.  Ten squares with members from 14 clubs attended the dance.  It was great to have Dick back calling again!

Royalty Banquet

April 18, 2015 – Over 100 past and new club Royalty members and their guests attended the 2015 Live and Laugh Royalty Luncheon sponsored by the Single Circles Square Dance members held in Osseo, MN.  The food was catered by The Lookout Bar & Grill and the entertainment, Music That Tickles, was provided by Shawn Sweeney.

Westonka Whirlers

Westonka Whirlers celebrated “Hawaiian Night” April 18 with Tom Allen, Ray Belanger and a welcome surprise:  Dick Rueter came to save the dance.  He and Tom did two tips together.  Adding to the specialness of the day, Queen Elaine Windsperger brought home the royalty banner won at the noon royalty luncheon.  During announcements, Elaine shared some of her memorable experiences in the yearlong journey of over 16,000 miles to garner the points needed to win the banner.  Congratulations Elaine and escort Joe!

Ar-Dale Dancers

April 12, 2015 – It was a nice Sunday afternoon for our April dance.  Noah Siegmann called and Ken LaBau cued.  There were eleven and five eight’s squares from fifteen clubs in attendance.  Celebrities were Janet Sahlstrom, Federation President; Michelle Jensen, Federation Vice President; SDM Vice Chair, Don Hanson; SDM Secretary, Bob Meyer; SDM Historian’s, Al and Cyndi Martin and Rum River Squares Vice Presidents, Arden and Dee Jensen.  Queens and Kings in attendance were Julie, Hotfoot Stompers; Barry and Jennifer Downs, Spares and Pairs; Elaine Windsperger, Westonka Whirlers and Kay Duffy, South Metro Stars.  We were pleased to have callers, Roger and Bernadette McNeil; Dan and Janet Sahlstrom and Larry Fruetel in attendance.  Congratulations to Bonnie Eidmann who was crowned our new Queen for the coming year.  Friendly Twirlers, Hotfoot Stompers, Spares and Pairs and Westonka Whirlers stole small banners.  Everyone enjoyed a delicious cake and other potluck items for lunch.  We look forward to seeing you again soon.

County Line Squares

April 10, 2015 – County Line Squares “T-Shirt Night” Square Dance, Monticello, Caller Tom Allen, Cuer Sarah Klaphake.  Ten squares with dancers from Westonka Whirlers, Single Circles, Spares & Pairs, Wandering Wheels, Darcy Dandies, Hotfoot Stompers, and County Line Squares were present.  Queen Adrienne was crowned by Queen Mavis.  Other royalty in attendance were Queen Jennifer and King Barry from Spares & Pairs and Queen Journey from Single Circles.  Also attending were SDM Vice Chair Don Hanson, SDM Secretary Bob Meyer, SDM Treasurer Deb Hollimon, SDM Historian Al Martin, and Come Square Dance President Vince Dahlheimer.  Guests visiting from Nebraska were Gary and Shirley Gillard from Darcy Dandies.  Beaux & Belles and Spares & Pairs retrieved their banners.
