February 3, 2018 – SDM Winter Festival “Board Meeting, Dance, and Awards Presentation” Square Dance, St. Cloud, Callers Tom Allen, Andy Flint, Tom Jacobs, Roger McNeil, Cuers Sarah Klaphake, Ken LaBau, Bernadette McNeil.  Forty-six dancers were present from Beaux & Belles, Cambridge Corners, County Line Squares, ETTA Square & Rounds, F-M Square Dancers Association, Jolly Twirlers, Koronis Nite Owls, L & M Squares, Rockin’ Country Dancers, Saturday Fun Nite, Single Circles, South Metro Stars, Spares & Pairs, Wadena Whirlaways, and Westonka Whirlers.  Mavis Johnson received the Most-Active Dancer award (see photo above) having participated in 139 dance events during the period July 1 through December 31, 2017.

Don Lundell received the second Most-Active Dancer award with 138 events.

Barry Downs was the third Most-Active Dancer with 128 events.

Jim Egerman was the fifth Most-Active Dancer with 68 events.

Mavis Johnson and Don Lundell received their sixth Traveler award.

Dave Flint received a Septuagenarian Live Lively award.

Jennifer Downs received a Septuagenarian Live Lively award.

February 2, 2018 – County Line Squares “Ground Hog Day” Square Dance, Monticello, Caller Abe Maier, Cuer Jane Simpson.  Six squares with dancers from Westonka Whirlers, Spares & Pairs, Single Circles, Hot Foot Stompers, Dan’se P.A.C., and County Line Squares were present.  Also present were Single Circles King Mel, Spares & Pairs Queen Cathy and King Brad, County Line Squares King Jim, CSD Chair Vince Dahlheimer, SDM Chair LeRoy Elfmann, SDM Education Director Barry Downs, SDM Historian Al Martin, SDM Marketing Director Dee Scott.

January 31, 2018 – Beaux & Belles “Denim/Western” Square Dance, St. Cloud, Caller Tom Allen.  Two squares with dancers from County Line Squares and Beaux & Belles were present (see photo above).  County Line Squares claimed a Beaux & Belles banner.

January 27, 2018 – Swingmasters “Mid-Winter Magic” Square Dance, Hopkins, Swingmasters caller and cuers.  Two sessions with 23 squares in the afternoon (see photo above) and 14 squares in the evening.

January 26, 2018 – Gospel Plus Square Dance, Hopkins, Caller Tom Allen, Cue Ken LaBau.  Four squares (see photo above) with dancers from Beaux & Belles, County Line Squares, Crystal Cross Trailers, Hot Foot Stompers, South Metro Stars, Spares & Pairs, Square & Twirl, and Westonka Whirlers enjoyed the evening dance.  Present were Crystal Cross Trailers Queen Shirlee, Hot Foot Stompers Queen Rose, Federation MRDC Tom and Shirlee Feneis, SDM Membership Director Mary Kay Amberg, SDM Historian Al Martin, SDM Education Director Barry Downs, SDM Secretary Gael Zachman, and SDM Chair LeRoy Elfmann.

January 21, 2018 – Westonka Whirlers “Snowmen on Parade” Square Dance, Mound, Caller Roger McNeil, Cuer Ray Belanger, Guest Cuer Bernadette McNeil. Eight squares with dancers from County Line Squares, Crystal Cross Trailers, Dakota Grand Squares, Hot Foot Stompers, Rosetown Ramblers (Portland, OR), Single Circles, South Metro Stars, Spares & Pairs, Square & Twirl, and Westonka Whirlers enjoyed the afternoon dance. Present were Dakota Grand Squares Queen Eileen and King Darwin, Westonka Whirlers Queen Katy and King Mark, CSD Chair Vince Dahlheimer, SDM Chair LeRoy Elfmann, SDM Secretary Gael Zachman, SDM Education Director Barry Downs, SDM Historian Al Martin, and SDM Marketing Director Dee Scott.

January 20, 2018 – Blaine Community Education “Wellness Day” Square Dance Demo, Blaine, Caller Dean Libby.  Dancers included members from Hot Foot Stompers and County Line Squares (see photo above).

January 19, 2018 – Single Circles “just Joking Around” Square Dance, Maple Grove, Caller Abe Maier, Cuer Jane Simpson.  Seven squares were present, including dancers from Hot Foot Stompers, Westonka Whirlers – qualified for a large banner (see photo above), and County Line Squares – retrieved their banner.
